HOLIDAY STYLE REPORT: Christmas Sightseeing

{ GUEST BLOGGER } Shaynee Berg of Shaynee Morgan Berg

Tis’ the season for holiday trains, lights on everything and Christmas fairs galore! So what is a fashionable gal to wear to these festive events? Ive got you covered. Layers are key when your attending events that often take place inside and out; I went for a David Bitton checkered blouse layered under a BCBG cropped knit and topped it off with a puffy vest from Penfield.  A classic pair of jeans from Citizens of Humanity and some burgundy booties from Aldo paired perfectly. The highlight of this outfit for me though was the adorable beenie I found at Aritizia and the gorgeous Brooklyn Designs Emma Lariat necklace that popped against the black jumper beautifully. I added a few snowflake hair ties around my wrist for function and fashion!

BEAUTY: Makeup Must Haves

Every girl wants to look her best and what better way than with a little help from our favourite makeup must haves! I've never been a big "makeup" girl, but I do love to have a few beauty essentials on hand to help brighten my skin and add some colour to my face, and I try not to leave the house without some loose powder and blush! Here are my personal makeup must haves!

1. Smashbox Full Exposure Eye Palette $58: Sephora
I purchased this set earlier this Spring and have been in love ever since. The set is split up in 2 different ways, the top row features shimmery shades and the bottom row is the same colours in a matte finish. They also have warm shades to the left and cool to the right. It comes with a great mascara as well that you can throw in your purse for touch ups!

2. Estee Lauder Pure Colour Blush $36: The Bay
The pigment in this blush is unreal! Blush is my #1 beauty item and you can't go wrong with this specific brand.

3. L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara $6-$8: L'Oreal (purchase at any Drug Store)
Hands down this is my go to mascara and has been for the past 20 years. This mascara will make your lashes look full and lush without breaking the bank.

4. Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Powder Bronzer $40: The Bay
Bronzer is a great way to add a little "glow" all year round. Make sure to brush a little on your neck too for an all over natural look.

5. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Flawless Wear Concealer $28: The Bay
If you're a mom like myself, you can totally appreciate a fantastic concealer and this Estee Lauder product helps keep me looking well rested (eye glasses are also a great way to hide under eye dark circles!!).

6. Estee Lauder Pure Colour Gloss $26: Sephora
Estee Lauder has nailed this gloss in both colour pigmentation and staying power. Glossy but not sticky is what I like best about this gloss, and they have a large selection of colours to choose from as well!

Holiday Style: Evening Boho-Chic

I love the holiday season because it means we all get to dress up and get together! One of my favourite silohettes is a maxi dress. The faux wrap top on this gauzy bohemian dress is very flattering on many shapes and the length of the dress allows you to choose from lots of great shoe options as well to create a variety of different looks.

Dress: H&M, Clutch: Steve Madden, Shoes: Sam Edelman
Long Necklace: Cameron, Short Necklace: Casey, Earrings: Lauren

I loved these cute slingback booties from Sam Edelman and the mixed print on this Steve Madden clutch with this 70's inspired dress. The textures and tassel on the clutch add an extra boho-feel to this outfit and of course the jewels add the perfect finishing touches.
The textured Casey necklace and arabesque shape of the earrings add to the bohemian theme and the long Cameron necklace is a great modern touch to complete this sexy evening look.
Don't forget to add a great belt or patterned sash around your waist!

Holiday Spirits - Pomegranate Cocktail

{ GUEST BLOGGER } Micaela Armstrong

Who else loves pomegranates? Some people hate opening and seeding them, but I think the work and mess is totally worth it in the end! I came across this recipe for Pomegranate cocktails recently while trying to figure out what drinks to bring to my next get-together. I wanted something that I could make in larger batches, but also that wouldn't take too long. In the summer, I'm the designated Sangria-maker, but it's not sangria weather, and pomegranates are in season so I decided to mix it up!

A Birthday Soirée has a delicious Pomegranate Cocktail recipe. With pomegranate juice, sparkling water and vodka, it's incredibly quick and simple (and it's almost a guaranteed crowd pleaser). Add fresh pomegranate seeds to garnish and you're good to go!
