BROOKLYN STYLE: The Bar Necklace

Style staples are what we live by.
Those special pieces that seem to work with almost everything in your wardrobe.
The pieces that no matter what, you always have to wear them..... everywhere.

The bar necklace is one of those pieces. You can pair your bar necklace with nearly everything in your wardrobe, and they look amazing when layered with your other fave necklaces too.

We currently offer 2 bar necklace styles in our collection.
The Bobbi necklace is one of my personal favourites and I find myself putting it on nearly every day lately (wearing it right now!). The hammered rough finish to Bobbi is a great way to add a bit of texture to your outfit and a nice contrast to any high polish pieces that you might be wearing as well.

Casey is our second bar necklace. This is an amazing layering piece and a definite wardrobe essential. Casey is 16 inches in length and features a small hammered bar link that sits nicely on the neckline. Pair your Casey with any of your fave 18-20 inch necklaces for an enviable layered look.

Shop Casey & Bobbi on our website and in stores!

HOLIDAY STYLE REPORT: Christmas Sightseeing

{ GUEST BLOGGER } Shaynee Berg of Shaynee Morgan Berg

Tis’ the season for holiday trains, lights on everything and Christmas fairs galore! So what is a fashionable gal to wear to these festive events? Ive got you covered. Layers are key when your attending events that often take place inside and out; I went for a David Bitton checkered blouse layered under a BCBG cropped knit and topped it off with a puffy vest from Penfield.  A classic pair of jeans from Citizens of Humanity and some burgundy booties from Aldo paired perfectly. The highlight of this outfit for me though was the adorable beenie I found at Aritizia and the gorgeous Brooklyn Designs Emma Lariat necklace that popped against the black jumper beautifully. I added a few snowflake hair ties around my wrist for function and fashion!

Holiday Style: Evening Boho-Chic

I love the holiday season because it means we all get to dress up and get together! One of my favourite silohettes is a maxi dress. The faux wrap top on this gauzy bohemian dress is very flattering on many shapes and the length of the dress allows you to choose from lots of great shoe options as well to create a variety of different looks.

Dress: H&M, Clutch: Steve Madden, Shoes: Sam Edelman
Long Necklace: Cameron, Short Necklace: Casey, Earrings: Lauren

I loved these cute slingback booties from Sam Edelman and the mixed print on this Steve Madden clutch with this 70's inspired dress. The textures and tassel on the clutch add an extra boho-feel to this outfit and of course the jewels add the perfect finishing touches.
The textured Casey necklace and arabesque shape of the earrings add to the bohemian theme and the long Cameron necklace is a great modern touch to complete this sexy evening look.
Don't forget to add a great belt or patterned sash around your waist!

HOLIDAY STYLE REPORT: Date Night

{ GUEST BLOGGER } Shaynee Berg of Shaynee Morgan Berg

The other week (with the holidays vastly approaching) I found myself thinking…this is the perfect time to take a quick getway and clear my mind before the world goes into complete Christmas craziness mode! So I did just that; jumped on a plane and hightailed it straight to Vegas. It was my first time as an adult so as you can imagine it was a very different experience comapred to the “Vegas Vacation” me and my family took when I was 12. I ate amazing food, saw unbelievable shows, and went on some of the best dates of my life. Planning an outfit for a date is no easy endeavor;  you want to be sexy… but not too sexy. Cute…but still adult. Look like your ready to have fun…but still feel comfortable. All in all my go to outfit usually consists of a fun flirty top and some kick ass leather pants- which just so happens to be what I wore in Vegas! Hope you all are having a great start to Decemeber and are able to sneak in a few date nights that end under the mistletoe…

Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day equals brunch and flowers. If you are looking to do something a little different on Sunday May 11 think about presenting Mom with a gift package over morning mimosas.

Start by thinking about her favourite thing to do then add a bit of sparkle and you'll have the perfect present.

The Foodie-

Find a high end pepper mill and matching
salt shaker then hang a pair of earrings from
the holes. The skewer-like Lexie or waffle
patterned Madison earrings add the right flavour

The Wine Connoisseur-

A new release red wine and four goblets with
Charming bracelets wrapped around the stems
will make her blush with happiness.

The Gardener-

Protective gloves with a leaf-style ring like
the Eve or Vitalia on every finger will remind
her of her flowers even when she's not digging
 in the dirt.

The Fashionista-

Keep her on trend with a primary coloured
necklace like the Stevie or August then add
in a gift certificate for a pedicure and manicure
so she'll be styling from neck to toe.

The Interior Decorator-

Wrap a pillow in layers of necklaces that
remind her of home like the nail-like Kristin
and the wreath shaped Eternity.

The Starlet-

Help her channel Alison Sweeney or
Sarah Michelle Geller with a collection
of As-Seen-On-TV jewellery and a
subscription to Netflix.

We'll be sharing more Mother's Day ideas throughout the week and want to hear from you what special things you'll be doing in the comments below!
