New Changes for 2013

The Fall/Winter season was incredibly busy and we had such a fantastic year for 2012! We are so excited to be launching our new Spring 2013 Collection and can't wait to share everything with all of you!

Over the next week we will be uploading and refreshing our website with all of our new designs. One of the changes we are most excited about is that we have named all of our jewels this season. Now you can shop our collection by name, for example our Long Tree of Life Necklace that was featured in the Vancouver Sun December 8, 2012 is now called the Vitalia Necklace. This change has been a long time coming and we're thrilled to have finally implemented this into our new collection.

We will also be dedicating time to updating our blog more frequently. Our Facebook page is a fabulous way to stay up to date and keep in touch with us and all of the new and exciting things that are happening at Brooklyn Designs. Our jewels will be seen on some new T.V. shows in the next little while also and we look forward to sharing all of the details with you as soon as we can!

One of our favorite new pieces for Spring are our Johanna Earrings. We have updated the colours for this season and are loving the Turquoise and Aqua options!

Style It Your Way

While designing each collection I always think about who the Brooklyn Designs woman is. I love hearing feedback from my customers and to be able to meet you in person and to interact is always a highlight for me. Through meeting all of you and listening to what you have to say and seeing how you wear your Brooklyn Designs it helps me to decide how to carry my designs into each new season. One of the most important parts about designing Brooklyn Designs is being able to create versatile pieces that you can wear to work, on the weekends and to special events.

Here are a few examples of how you can style your Brooklyn Designs your way, whether you're going out to lunch with friends or are on your way to work.

 Here is a great look for the weekend for a day of shopping with friends. Pair your favorite denim with a comfortable pair of boots and cute feminine lace top with some of our new Fall 2012 designs. We've featured our Gold Branch Earrings, Amethyst Swarovski Crystal & Black Onyx Pavé GF Bracelet, Swarovski Crystal & Black Onyx Pavé GF Bracelet, Crystal Pavé Ring Gold-filled Necklace and Vermeil Leaf Ring.

Celebrity Style: Leaf Earrings

Some of our favorite designs are inspired by botanical elements and we just can't get enough of leaf earrings. Whether they are adorned with sparkling swarovski crystals or are highly detailed and elegant on their own, our leaf inspired earrings are always and forever popular.

Lately we've seen some of our favorite celebrities wearing leaf earrings and we wanted to share a few with you. We are big fans of The Vampire Diaries and the gorgeous Nina Dobrev has a great boho chic style of her own. She been  seen wearing leaf earrings just like our Open Leaf Swarovski Fringe Earrings at Coachella and on the red carpet.

Styling: Boho Chic

I've been having some fun playing with different fashion styles on Polyvore this weekend and want to share some of the different looks with you. Polyvore is a great place to find fashion inspiration and to play with different fashion looks without having to go anywhere! You just need to be creative and have fun with their different design tools.

The first look I want to share is Boho Chic inspired. I was thinking Modern Hippie when I put this together and it's actually an outfit that I wear myself. I have layered a few pieces from some of my favorite deisgners Gypsy 05 and 7 For All Mankind to create a fun and casual outfit that is easy to wear on the weekends and days off.

Celebrity Style: Rosary & Tusk Necklaces

We've had lots of fun with our Fall 2012 Collection and always try to stay on trend by designing modern but classic pieces. One current trend that we're loving are Tusk (otherwise known as Horn) Pendants. We designed a gorgeous long Tusk Charm Necklace for our Spring 2012 Collection and have recently introduced our Hammered Gold Tusk Necklace for Fall 2012. We've been seeing some of our favorite celebrities wearing their own Tusk Necklaces lately and two of our favorites are Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Alba. Gwyneth and Jessica have an incredible sense of style and always look amazing.

Another trend we're loving are Rosary Style Necklaces. These are classic pieces that always look stylish and are great for layering too. We recently saw actress Amber Heard wearing a simple Rosary Style Necklace and we have our own version that is a great look as well. We've incorporated a sparkling Pavé Crystal center bead and a gorgeous large Clear Swarovski Crystal Pendant with Sterling Silver chain to create this amazing and easy to wear necklace.
