Guest blogger Stephanie Mosher of Glass Slipper Event Planning is sharing her favorite wedding trends for 2014 on our blog today. Stay tuned for another fab 5 trends for your special day!
It’s wedding season and I’m excited about
some of the trends for 2014!
Planning your wedding? Well take note of
these popular trends, as these are ones that I think will stand the test of
time not just one season! Here are 5 of my top 10 favourite wedding trends for 2014.
BLUSHING BRIDES
Blush, pale peach and nudes are so popular
this year! This colour palette adds a feminine, romantic touch! It works well
paired with other neutral colours like cream or ivory as well as gold. Mix it
up by adding a bold colour like navy into your colour scheme.

MIX & MATCH
Whether it be your bridesmaids dresses or
your table décor such as vintage vases or tea cups, mix & match is in for
2014. Say goodbye to the “matchy matchy” and stop worrying if everything is the
same shade. Bridesmaids dresses look great in different shades creating an
ombre effect or allowing bridesmaids to pick a style of dress that compliments
their body type and mason jars or vases of varying sizes and styles create a cute
DIY feel.

SLOW MOTION PHOTO BOOTH
The
photo booth is nothing new but at a recent wedding I coordinated, they had a
slow motion photo booth! It was busy all night! Guests were returning covered
in glitter and silly string and having a great time! The video makes a great
keep sake for the couple and hilarious shots of all your guests! The standard
photo booth is also evolving with more DIY props and chalkboard signs.

#UNPLUGGED WEDDINGS
Who doesn’t love a hashtag? However, a
trend I am seeing more and more is the “unplugged wedding”, #putyourphoneaway, where couples are asking
guests to check there smartphones at the door (sometimes, literally!). Let’s face it, you hired a photographer for a
reason so let them capture those images of your special day just make sure to
let guests know of your wishes and make it easy for them to access pictures of
your big day afterwards.
ALL THINGS THAT GLITTER
“Some girls are born with glitter in their
veins”
Metallics and glitter can add a fun pop to
a neutral palette and look great with dark colours as well like black or
navy. Incorporate sparkle in your
wedding gown, accessories or table décor
such as your number numbers, vases or candles. My top favourite metallic items
are mercury vases or candle holders and many decorators are now offering a
sparkly sequin table runners or chair sashes! Be careful how much you add
though, it doesn’t need to look like Tinkerbell danced across your table. A
little glitter or gold can go a long way!
Don’t know where to start with planning or
need help bringing your vision to life? We’d love to be a part of your big day!
