STYLE MOMENT: Coachella Festival Style

Spring is here, the weather is warming up and April brings one of the most coveted concert festivals the year has to offer. Of course we're talking about Coachella. There are 2 things we need to know about this 2 weekend festival:

#1. The musical line up is UNREAL! We're talking about amazing artists like Beck, Lorde, Queens of the Stone Age, OutKast, Group Love, Arcade Fire, Bastille, Broken Bells, oh my goodness I could go on forever about the line up at Coachella. But there is one more thing that is equally important other than the music.....

#2. The Fashion.

We love a great maxi dress, and this season brings so many amazing options whether you love tie dye, solids and one of this seasons big trends, Florals. Channel your inner bohemian with a gorgeous floral maxi dress and add your favorite accessories to create your own personalized Coachella festival style.

CELEBRITY STYLE: Alison Sweeney

I have watched Alison Sweeney on Days of Our Lives since I was 13, and let's just say that was a long time ago! So, you can imagine how excited I was to see Alison wearing my designs on such a HUGE hit show like The Biggest Loser this past year. One of my favorite parts of designing my jewelry brand is seeing it worn on some of my favorite TV shows and actresses. It really is a big thrill for me!

I love watching Alison on The Biggest Loser, where she also shows us her journey to living a healthy lifestyle. Not only is she a busy actress and host, but Alison is a wife, devoted mother to two adorable kids, an author and brand ambassador to health brands such as Aetna.

If that wasn't enough, having Alison wearing our jewels on The Biggest Loser and national ad campaigns, we also spotted her wearing our popular Renay leather wrap bracelet on an Ellen Show appearance! Say what? The Ellen Show? Yep, how exciting is that?!

We love Alison Sweeney, and although we're sad to see her leave Days of Our Lives, we're excited to see what new opportunities will come her way. She had mentioned on The Ellen Show that she hopes her character Sammi will leave the show "Breaking Bad style" and that would be awesome! Thanks Alison, for making our jewels look so gorgeous and a ridiculously BIG thank you to Carrie, her talented and lovely stylist.

Sunday Eats: Honey Chipotle Chicken Bowls

Healthy eating is a very important part of my lifestyle and it doesn't necessarily mean that you have to eat meals that are super low calorie or fat free. To me it means eating lots of fresh vegetables and healthy proteins that taste really delicious. I always feel great after I eat a big salad because I know that at least in that one meal I have accomplished something healthy by eating lots of vegetables.

A great place to find new recipes is of course, Pinterest. Seeing the food photographed in a way that makes your mouth water is always a plus. One of my latest favorites is this delicous Honey Chipotle Chicken Bowl salad that I found via the How Sweet It Is blog.

I absolutely LOVE this recipe! The flavours are amazing and the chicken marinade is "to die for"! I love the different textures, and the fact that it's full of really healthy ingredients makes me feel good when I eat it. STYLE MOMENT: Print Pants

If there is one thing we love here at Brooklyn Designs, it's got to be fashion! Learning the latest trends in our favorite magazines and following super stylish fashion bloggers is a favorite past time, and so far this Spring is not disappointing.

One trend that we're loving is printed pants. Whether you choose a pair of super comfy & stylish leggings or try out the new silky pajama pant styles, you are sure to find something to add to your wardrobe. An easy way to wear a printed pant is to pair them with a solid top and add your favorite jacket to finish off the look. If you're choosing a shoe we definitely suggest an ankle boot. Pick a pair with a chunky heel or a stylish flat with embellishments to add some personality to the look.

For our latest campaign we chose these amazing tights from DEX Clothing. We LOVE this tie dye inspired print and the neutral colour palette. We paired these leggings with a soft pink dolman top from Forever 21 & leather booties from The Bay.

Of course no look would be complete without your favorite accessories! We always think layered necklaces are the perfect choice for everyday, like our Jorja and Felicity shown here. Add your favorite pair of earrings and a few bracelets and you have a complete on trend look.
