CELEBRITY STYLE: TIFF & VIFF Fashion

TIFF, VIFF…film fest season is on in Canada. The stars are out in force in the great white north and they are chanelling our laid back, casual style. Here’s a look at some of the key styles from the red carpet in Toronto. 

LBD- The little black dress is an easy option for looking fabulous and unpretentious. From midi-length to cutouts, stars such as Jennifer Aniston, Tina Fey and Laura Dern worked the red carpet in some pared back styles.

Lace and Mesh- Adding glamour to Hollywood North was a fresh fabric choice, patterned lace and mesh. Amanda Seyfried paired a lace t-shirt with a floral mini skirt, Reese Witherspoon wore a purple lace mini dress, Keira Knightley wore a lace black and white polka dot dress, and Jennifer Garner’s LBD had a side detail of mesh.   

Jewel Tones- Saturated colours at the end of summer seem like a welcome transition to the cooler months ahead. Kate Bosworth, Jane Fonda, and Naomi Watts were some of the actresses in shades of ruby, amethyst, and sapphire.

String ties- Starlets new and old were rocking Little House on the Prairie string ties. The new take on bow ties is an exciting new collar detail! Janet Jones Gretzky, Nicole Kidman, and young actress Kaitlyn Dever added them to tuxedos, dresses and jumpsuits.

We love following our favorite celebrities like Jessica Alba and Sarah Michelle Gellar and taking style cues from these leading ladies. One of our favorite trends is delicate layered necklaces and these two celebs always look put together and on trend.

STYLE MOMENT: Fall Fashion Must Haves

Babton Javier Sweater, Leif Blouse, Talula Manzano pants and Aldo Huska booties.

I have to admit, I have always been a big fan of Aritzia. I love the simple and easy to wear style of their brands and the quality of their clothing as well. They recently released their Fall collections and these 3 pieces are on my must have list!

While we're transitioning from Summer to Fall weather here in B.C., you could easily swap the boots and pants for a pair of distressed denim shorts and a cute pair of sandals, or a great patterned maxi skirt would look fantastic as well.

NEW FALL COLLECTION

It's a new season in the fashion world and I couldn't be more excited! I love going to the mall and searching through all of my favorite stores to find the perfect pieces for Fall, but I get even more excited when I share my newest collection with all of you!

We wrapped our Fall lookbook photo shoot last week and our website is updated with our freshest new styles and photographs for you to shop from! Below are some of my personal favorites from our photo shoot and collection.

 I love this shot of Shaynee. We went to Gary Point which is a little part of Steveston in Richmond, B.C. Canada. I was lucky enough to spend a large portion of my life living in the area. Steveston and West Richmond hold a special place in my heart and give me so many wonderful memeories of growing up with friends.
Our gorgeous model Shaynee, is wearing stacks of our stretch gemstone charm bracelets, Black Onyx Illiana Necklace, Cameron Necklace and Juno Necklace (with a 4 inch extender).

I styled Shaynee in a long grey maxi tank dress from Forever 21, Comminity Iconic Cape, and her own hat from Urban Outfitters. I love how easy to wear this look is, and that you can completely change the look by switching up your accessories. You could take off the hat, add a belt and a blazer with a great pair of heels for a more sophisticated style. Or you could add a denim vest/jacket and an embellished pair of flat sandals for a cute day look.

Our photographer Laura from Magnolia Photgraphic, searched the beach to find some awesome places to shoot and she found some pretty cool things to photograph near. I love how this shot turned out with the bright colours in the background.

This is such a great shot! Shaynee is wearing our Gemma Collar, Drew Labradorite Necklace and Bailey Aqua Chalcedony Necklace. I loaded her wrists with lots of stretch gemstone charm bracelets and gemstone rings. I love the colour of this chambray shirt from American Eagle too.

Dive Into Bikinis & Beach Ready Jewels

I’ve lost some of my best jewellery at the beach. It’s always the precious stuff that I don’t want to wear in the water so I leave it tucked under a towel. But then the tide comes in, the beach blanket is pulled back from the water’s edge, and my wedding ring gets washed into the ocean. Or I empty the sand out my bag and the earrings I had placed in a “safe” inside pocket disappear into the moat around the sand castle.

There is only one solution- wear jewellery that is beach friendly and will add a fashionable feel to your bathing suit. Here are the top beach trends and water friendly jewellery to wear with them.

1-      One shoulder bathing suits are elegant. Add in fashions current favourite colour combination, black and white, and you’ll be the sophisticate at the beach. This look calls for sleek accessories like the Leah or Lexie earrings. 

2-      A high-waisted floral bikini will make you feel like a pin up. These flattering suits feel heritage sweet with a Brylee necklace. 

3-      The sports wear trend makes perfect sense at the beach. Pretend you are a surfer with sporty details like mesh and zippers or a full sleeved top with your bikini bottom. Barely-there earrings like the Kelly are the only accessory you need.  

4-      Ruffles at the waist or across the chest can hide and boost some trouble areas. Just leave them off the bum; this look is for girls 5 and under. The ruffle adds romance to your swimsuit and adding the Desire necklace and bracelet will heighten the possibility of a summer love. 

5-      Bikini tops get refreshed with a high neck or bustier length. This fresh update on the classic string bikini calls for statement jewellery like the Jaylin ring.
