BROOKLYN STYLE: Bohemian & Minimalism

{ GUEST BLOGGER } Micaela Armstrong

If you're anything like me, you like to switch things up in the wardrobe department. However, instead of going out and buying a new outfit, it's super easy to add variety by simply changing how you accessorize. Today, I'm going to highlight an example of how to achieve two different styles simply by altering the accessories you add.

For our first outfit, let's go Boho! The Bohemian look is characterized by more earthy, nature inspired, yet chic pieces. I chose to include a pair of our gold Shaye earrings, our Monica labradorite necklace, and our Cosmo necklace - also in gold. The Shaye earrings are a great example of the boho-chic style, and the Monica and Cosmo necklaces with their contrast of delicate gold and natural stones are a dynamic combination that reflect a modern, down-to-earth design. Also from Brooklyn Designs, I included our Skye Rhodonite and Lennox stretch bracelets. I love wearing these! I find them so easy to pair with practically anything in my closet - they're so easy to throw on and they completely revamp my look. Cap off your outfit with a Plume handbag and Casalnuoyo ankle boots from Aldo and you're good to go!

To contrast with the earth tones and gemstones that characterize the bohemian look, I've compiled a number of accessories for a more minimalistic approach. Let's do away with the colours for a moment and focus on simplicity - in this case mostly silver and black. It's easy to achieve a striking look without overdoing it. Layering necklaces can be light and simple with our sterling silver Bobbi and Casey necklaces. Add our adorable Wish studs and our elegant Wishbone bracelet and you have a classic polished outfit! Supplement your look by adding a Clontarf handbag and Prestento boots from Aldo.

If you're starting with a simple base outfit, altering your style can really just be a matter of changing how you accessorize.

What are your favourite ways to switch it up? Let us know in the comments below!

BROOKLYN STYLE: Delicate Layered Necklaces

If there's one thing I love, it's delicate layered necklaces.
When I'm designing my collections I always think about what pieces layer well together and how I can incorporate our best sellers with our newest designs
I've taken some of my favourite layering pieces and coupled them together for 3 great looks that you can easily incorporate into your daily wear.

Brooklyn Designs Wish necklace & Rachel Labradorite necklace.

I'd love to know what your favourite every day necklaces are, please let us know

TV STYLE: Arrow

Have you been watching Arrow recently? There so much going on this season and we're only a little more than half way through! Not to mention the amazing Flash crossover episode (another one on the way I think!).
Luckily I was able to spot a few of our jewels again on the gorgeous Emily Bett Rickards!

Emily Bett Rickards wears our gold-filled Leandra Druzy necklace.
Shop Leandra here.

Our Vermeil Katia earrings are a popular pick for Felicity to wear, and we
love seeing her in these arabesque hoops. Shop Katia here.

We could barely keep these nature inspired Addison earrings in stock when we spotted Emily wearing them on the show in December! Shop Addison here.

What's your favourite look so far from this season?
We'd love to hear in the comments below.

Valentine's Day Gift Guide

{ GUEST BLOGGER } Micaela Armstrong

Valentine's Day is fast approaching! It can sometimes be hard to find a gift for that special someone, so I've compiled five Valentine's Day themed gifts ranging from $10 to $85 that (just about) any girl would love to receive.

First up for $9.95, we have Hot Toddy shower gel from Lush. This warm cinnamon scent is a classic from Lush and can also be used as a shampoo!

Second at $26 is Kat Von D's Studded Kiss Lipstick in Hexagram - a beautiful deep red. I have four of these lipsticks, and I don't know what I would do without them. They're incredibly long lasting and they come in shades ranging from matte nudes to sparkling neons.

Third for $49.99 is a gorgeous Fossil Sydney Zip clutch. The colour choices range, but for the purposes of my theme I decided on Scarlet. The Sydney Zip clutch is the perfect addition to any date night outfit!

Fourth at $79 are our adorable Laurel Ruby Studs (as seen on the Bachelorette!). These studs are such a great everyday staple for my wardrobe. They're so easy to wear on any occasion when I feel like adding a pop of colour to my outfit.

Lastly at $85 is the Wilfred Diamond Mosaic blanket scarf from Aritzia. I love the versatility and style of these blanket scarves, and they're a must have for the cold months!

From the super simple to the more luxurious, these are a few of my favourite reds. Some people are harder to shop for than others, but hopefully these ideas can help get you started!
