Seeing people make a positive change in their lives to be a better person for themselves and the people they love is a pretty great reason to watch this show!

HOLIDAY STYLE REPORT: Thanksgiving Dinner

{ GUEST BLOGGER } Shaynee Berg of Shaynee Morgan Berg

October is one of my favorite months of the year; not only because of the falling leaves and crisp autum air, but also because it is the start of the Holiday Season. The start of family dinners, coffees with friends and snuggling by the fire to watch movies. Thanksgiving is the first stepping stone on the Holiday Season path so I figured why not share what I wore to mine this year. I picked a simple grey tweed dress from H&M and paired it with a beautiful pair of burgundy tights from Aldo; the rich color really helps bring in the spirit of fall. This is the kind of outfit you can dress up or down depending on the accessories you chose; for my look I went with some adorable Oxford style heels from Lord & Taylor and of course some beautiful Brooklyn Desgins jewels to pull it all together. I hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving and I will be back with another holiday look soon!

STYLE MOMENT: Mad for Plaid

{ GUEST BLOGGER } Micaela Armstrong

Plaid is huge this fall and for a good reason. No longer is it solely for Canadian Lumberjacks. It’s becoming available in a variety of versatile manners – from scarves and shirts to pants and skirts! If you’re not a fan of the traditional red, fear not. Plaid is available almost everywhere, meaning your colour options are nearly endless!

Personally, I love a plaid flannel shirt. They’re incredibly comfortable and easy to layer as it starts to get a bit colder. Here are a couple of my favourite plaid shirts this season.

Speaking of versatile, I like to pair some plaid with our gorgeous Ellie earrings (especially suitable for fall!) and delicate Leandra Druzy necklace. I find them super easy to style with pretty much any of my fall favourites!

What's your favourite way to wear plaid? Let us know in the comments below!

STYLE MOMENT: Work Ready Jewelry

{ GUEST BLOGGER } Sarah Murray of Fashion Capsule

Office wear can be a complicated thing. A quick glance around the cubicles and you’ll see skirt suits, jeans and sweaters, and dresses. The rules change from office to office and day to day. No matter where you work you can find jewellery from Brooklyn Designs that will make you look like you mean business while still being feminine.

The bank teller- She's got a serious job in a corporate environment and the expectation is for her to look the part in suits and jewellery that mean business like the Cece in blue Chalcedony earrings. When casual Friday comes along her suits switch to jeans and dressy tops and her studs turn into long earrings like the Ellison in Labradorite.

The waitress- Head to toe black is the usual attire for a server so she has only one choice for showcasing her flair...jewellery. The more the better so layers of necklaces like the Wish in gold and the Bailey and Stevie in green Onyx.

The fashion journalist- The reporter looks fashion forward when she's out at events. She's probably sporting the latest trend in a unique way and wearing rings like the Jaylin ring. But the rest of the time she is tucked in her home office click clacking away at the key board in sweats and accessories she could have slept in the night before like the Infinity Vermeil Studs and Costello ring

The teacher- Little girls like their teachers in pretty dresses but try running gym class in a pencil skirt and the sportswear trend becomes amazing. A funky sweatshirt, dress pants and fancy earrings like the Liz, makes everyone happy.

STYLE MOMENT: Leather Handbag Must Haves

I have always loved purses since I can remember, and I always keep my eye out for something new and special to add to my collection. Last year I bought my first genuine leather handbag and I have to say I will have a hard time buying anything other than real leather from now on! Not only do leather handbags feel better than vegan choices, but they last longer and look nicer with wear.

Here I am sharing a round up of some of my favorite leather handbags.
Some of these I own and some of them are on my wishlist!
Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Natasha & Too Hot to Handle Lea handbags.

The Classic Q Natasha is my absolute favorite! I own both of these bags and love how versatile they are in style and am really happy with the amount of space these bags have to hold all of my essentials.

There is something to be said about handmade products and their amazing quality. This messenger bag packs a punch with it's undenial style and swagger. I would love to have this amazing piece and would use it daily.

Jola V. Designs handbags are impecibaly made and I love their unique boho styling that each bag in Jolanta's collection offers. This Vancouver based brand has beautiful designs and lots of great colour choices!

Another great brand is Fossil. I am a fan of their Sydney collection as these bags are classic and will never go out of style. I love these 2 shades, Mushroom & Dark Green because you could easily wear these colours year round.

STYLE MOMENT: Student Style on a Budget

{ GUEST BLOGGER } Micaela Armstrong

As a University student, I make a lot of compromises when it comes to spending money. One of the ways in which I try to economise is by shopping at fun, inexpensive and widely available stores such as Forever 21 and H&M. Forever 21 is always a safe bet when you're looking for a new dress! Being that I am a huge fan of everything floral, I recently purchased this adorable Darling Cutout Floral Dress. It's so easy to wear casually with a black cardigan or a denim jacket like this one from H&M.

One thing I steadfastly refuse to compromise on is the quality and quantity of jewelry that I wear on a daily basis! My current favourites to pair with almost anything are the Lauren Lariat and the Laurel Studs. The Lauren Lariat is super diverse in that you can easily layer it with another necklace or simply wear it on its own. Lately I've been favouring a simple stud earring such as the Laurel Studs in Ruby or Chalcedony. I find them a refreshing contrast to the long elegant Lauren Lariat. Not only are these gems perfect for everyday wear, but they work well for formal events and a fun night out with friends too!

STYLE REPORT: Fall For Me

{ GUEST BLOGGER } Shaynee Berg of Shaynee Morgan Berg

Once a year in Vancouver we find ourselves in the perfect season. The sun still shines, the leaves are just changing and the frost is yet to be seen. From a  fashion lovers perspective fall is extra glorious; its the season for warm layers, leather boots and more rich jewel tones than your heart could ever desire. It's also the beginning of party season. A few weeks ago I found myself strolling through the mall and could not resist this seasons offerings; as I went through my many shopping bags filled with fall goodies I couldnt help but think...a photoshoot needs to be done! These are a some of the outfits I can't wait to wear in the upcoming months and they all pair perfectly with Brooklyn Designs jewelry.
 With much love,
SMB
The Summer Crossover
Just because the air is a little more crisp doesn't mean it's time to totally throw the minis away! Add a warm cropped sweater or even some tights to make your skirts easily transition from summer to fall. Bolder more structured accessories really help beef up an outfit for colder seasons, here I am wearing shoes from Aldo and carrying a beautiful Doodney & Burke Bag.
Who says no white after labour day...

  Mad for Plaid
Nothing says ‘Christmas is Coming’ quite like plaid; but until the snow starts to fall I like to wear lighter flannels and use them as layering pieces. By keeping the rest of the outfit fairly neutral the shirt becomes the key item in this look; this one is by the Jessica Simpson Collection.

The Cozy Sweater
I can't make it through fall without adding at least one new sweater to my collection. This one comes by way of H&M, which means it was also very budget friendly. I kept it looking light by layering a few Brooklyn Designs necklaces for a little sparkle; I picked up these pieces at Wish On A Star in Port Moody, BC. I grounded the outfit with some amazing leather boots by Dolce Vita.

Brooklyn Designs Kristin Necklace & Long Turquoise Hoop Necklace (available at Wish On A Star in Port Moody).

Brooklyn Designs Geometric Gold Earrings on sale at our Sample Sale site!

Party Skirt
I love a great party dress, but this year I thought I would mix it up and start incorperating more seperates into my going out wardrobe. The skirt steals the show in this look; which I am totally okay with! It is from Express and has the perfect amount of volume without overwhelming my frame. I paired it with a simple over the shoulder top from American Apparel and my favourtie fall accesory; a bold lip!
